Why we exist, what we believe, and what we're not.
Doing business in Africa is hard for outsiders — not because the opportunities aren't real, but because the information gap is. Company registries are incomplete. Business is relationship-driven. Regulations are country-specific and change. A supplier's website tells you nothing about whether the warehouse exists.
Large multinationals solve this with local offices and expensive consultants. Everyone else — mid-size exporters, first-time entrants, firms bidding their first donor tender — is left guessing. We exist for them.
Business for Africa Inc. is a services company. We verify counterparties, register vendors with major buyers, find local experts for bids, assess tenders, and land companies in new markets. Fixed prices, clear deliverables, real people doing the work.
We're a small team of Africa business specialists with local associates in the countries we cover. Every verification report, every registration, every landing pack is done by someone who knows the market — not scraped, not generated, not guessed.
We're not a platform with hundreds of thousands of users. We're not SOC 2 certified. We don't have proprietary AI trained on African market data. We don't have a $120 billion market map. If you see those claims on an Africa business site, ask for evidence — and then come talk to us instead.
We believe the trust business starts with being trustworthy. That means no invented statistics, no hype, no pretending to be bigger than we are. Our credibility is our product.
Every engagement follows the same pattern: ask, verify, land. You tell us what you're trying to do. We check the facts on the ground before you commit. Then we execute — registrations, meetings, introductions, paperwork.
We also run a free AI assistant on this site. It answers general questions about African markets honestly — and tells you when a question needs human verification rather than a chatbot answer. Every question asked teaches us what the market actually needs.
BFA was founded by David Wu, a management consultant who has spent years working on digital transformation, trade facilitation, and public-sector projects across Africa — including the Tanzania Maritime Single Window programme and bids for the World Bank, African Development Bank, and UN agencies. He's seen, from the inside, how the gap between "the tender document" and "how things actually work" creates both risk and opportunity — and built BFA to close it for companies that can't afford to learn by failing.
Start with a question or go straight to a service. Either way, you'll talk to a human.
